The size of the oval ornament is 4 inches tall x 2.5 inches wide. The faceted edges catch the light from every direction. A 2d image is laser etched inside the ornament, not on the surface, so it is an heirloom treasured keepsake. Each ornament comes in a very nice gift box.

How the etching actually works
A focused laser is fired into the crystal and creates millions of microscopic fractures at a fixed depth. Bright parts of your photo become white frosting; dark parts stay clear glass. Because the image sits inside the block, there is no ink, no coating and nothing on the surface to wear.
For a 3D piece we first build a depth model from your photo, so the face floats in the crystal rather than sitting on one plane. That needs a clean, front-on photo of one or two people — we will say so if yours is not suitable.
Photo guidelines
Sharp, well-lit, good contrast, face filling a decent part of the frame. Phone photos from the last few years are usually excellent. Scans of old prints work well too — scan at 600dpi if you can.
Screenshots, heavily filtered images and photos taken through glass are the three that cause trouble. Send it anyway and we will tell you before you buy.
Shipping and returns
Shipping is priced on the weight of your order and where it is going, and the exact cost is shown before the final checkout page. We use UPS or USPS and email you the tracking number. Orders normally ship within 5 business days of the order, or of artwork approval if you asked for a proof.
Because every piece is custom made, all sales are final — we cannot accept returns or exchanges. But if there is a manufacturing defect, or you are simply not satisfied, we will remake it free of charge. Email us within 30 days of receipt for a return authorisation number.
